And your PS3 needs to be on at least firmware 3.50

all PlayStation?3 systems are capable of playing stereoscopic 3D games provided that you have installed
            System Software Update 3.30
or greater. With this free firmware update, the PS3? system can support stereoscopic 3D gaming ? right-in your living room at no additional charge. You?ll also need a 3D HDTV or 3D Ready HDTV and 3D sync transmitter kit, 3D glasses compatible with your TV, and a High Speed HDMI cable (supporting at least 10.2 Gbps).

andy1weir is correct in pointing out 3.30 allows you to game in 3d.What I should have said was you need at least 3.50 to watch Blu-Rays in 3d.

However did you solve your problem?

I'm pleased you got your 3D link sorted, i was worried that mine wouldn't link up if i decide to update my PS3. I also have a samsung tv. Good luck with it.
