Buying PS3 with red screen - Is it worth it?

I came across a broken PS3 on Ebay this morning and I might go for it. This is the one eBay.ie: Sony PlayStation 3 (?? gb) Red screen (item 220768903942 end time 12-May-11 22:57:20 BST) but there is a problem with it it has a red screen when it turns on. Is this problem fixable and would a ps3 with this problem be worth a punt of 75 euro?

I don't know according to the listing it is a red screen.

Dont think so mate some say this is easy fix some say its hard.

Not as simple as the ylod fix. So for that money it be a big gamble.

Thanks for the advice cg. I think I might leave it I don't like fixing hard stuff and with all the talk of ps3 customer details been at risk at the moment on the news. It wouldn't surprise me if we see quite a number of used ps3s on Ebay. Then the price would decrease.

ive read a few forums a bout this, it can be hardware issues which if it is its ~~~~ed , it can also be caused by a bad flash of CFW which is called REBUG CFW or something , so id leave if it if i were you....

leave it well alone mate it will be one that used the original wanikoko cfw that went wrong unless u have something to rejig it ( which costs about 3k) it aint worth the hassle imho
