hello all, basically i have downloaded one of my favourite tv series of all time and would like to back them up onto my ps3 so as to avoid using discs. they are all avi format but only one of them will play. i have tried numerous converters and into numerous formats but i cannot seem to get it right. i lose quality in the conversion which whilst it's watchable is not the perfection i am looking for. anybody know of a good way to convert them without losing picture quality? i must also point out that i used convert x to dvd to convert them into that format and the quality is flawless however it turns a 360mb file into a 2.81gb file so also any idea how to shrink these would be good. thanks

have you converted into ps3 format?
any video converter
on all the torrents sites, groups etc converts anything to anythingFave replies from various threads

tried avs, convert genius, joboshare ps3 video converter, ps3 video9, imtoo mpeg encoder. also tried converting to mkv and using mkvtovob to do it that way. but i just cannot get the quality of picture to match the original. just d/ling any video converter now see if this one works any better.Last edited by bobfrapples; 22 June, 2011, 19:52.Comment

convert x to dvd 4 works a treat....
it wont make files to big either, a 1.4 g file becomes about 2 gig.
but hang on a mo....if its your fave series ever ? shouldnt you buy it ????

nother thing you could do is put files on external drive & transfer them top ps3s HD if you got space....then you dont have to use dvdRs or blurays. Blurays are cheap now....25gig space for ?1. (youd get 3 720p DL movies on each one.....) or an entire 13 pt tv series in HD....Comment

yeah i am trying to put them on my ps3 hd but they are in an avi format that the ps3 does not support. all but 1 episode grrr. tried convert x to dvd ( each episode individually ) but it makes it 2.81 gb per episode. and i never said it was my fave but merely 1 of. robin of sherwood if it interest anyone
. why buy when they are freely available online especially when i could probably recite the lines almost word for word. saddo alert.
