This seems the YLOD problem. Read on here about it. Basically the ps3 needs repairing (the solder needs reflowing).
You could try a cooling fan but if it works it may not last long.

I can try that. But it says that is overheating on "cold start". Is there some diagnosis (like BIOS on PC) for PS3?? Somebody know where are temperatura sensors?

Try silver heat paste and don't rush the job.
Be carefull of cables etc. Especially when opening up.
The ribbon cables have locks on the connections be carefull on unlocking them.
If you do do it make sure you completely remove the old paste. Do not use sharp tools. I use tissue and a new clean paintbrush.
A good point on cleaning the fan and cooling fins. Easily missed.
You can also get a fan with more blades as well but I don't know if they work. I have the 60 gig and have put a front cooling fan on just to be sure.

Have to agree with all of this. If you leave any old crap on there it will not improve, you have to have it spotless (talking cleaned with isopropyl alcohol clean here) before you put the new paste on and spread the paste evenly and thinly, too much is as bad as too little. It does not make too much difference whether you buy the good (expensive) silver stuff or the cheap white stuff, the solution is in the preparation. Also to add that I linished my heatsinks until they shone before putting them back on, this also makes a huge difference.
