ps3 not reading discs

hi all got a ps3 thats not reading discs opened it up the blue laser is still coming on but the disc isnt spinning could the motor be knackered?

it might be a broken ribbon cable

Hi guys I have the same problem straight after updating software to play mw3 my ps3 won't read any discs I've taken it apart it takes the disc in the laser moves and a blue laser goes but disc won't spin tried the reformat thing didn't work any one any ideas

Common on these are the drives and a faulty chip on the board
