ps3 to pc monitor

i am looking at get either a dvi to hdmi cable or vga to hdmi
so i can play ps3 on my pc monitor
is this possible to do with either of these cables
if this is possible to do does the cable have to be a high quality not a rubbish one from ebay or will the ones off ebay work fine

hdmi to dvi will work.. get the cheapest you can.. ignore anybody who says you have to pay ?70 odd quid for the has worked fine for 3 years

ye best with dvi to hdmi, i used to have a hdmi pc monitor that i picked up for 25 quid second hand, like new tho, 22 inch , worked perfect so dnt think you have to buy a dear one

does the sound work also or would i have to use my optical lead for the sound to work
can i convert er the dvi to vga and it still works
