PS3 Ribbon connectors

Does anyone know how to securely locate the DVD ribbon cable in place when the connector is broken?

I was thinking Blu Tak or superglue, but maybe someone has a better solution

Remove the plug altogether and solder the cable. It is hard but possible.
You can also use silver conducting paint but it has no strength so you have to fix it as well.
