ps3 jailbreak 4.0

does the jailbreak 4.0 can downgrade the 4.0 firmware from my ps3 to the 3.55 to play games from backup disk??

Where can i download it?

Short Answer - No

Long Answer - You still need an E3 Flasher or Progskeet to downgrade from OFW 4.0 as far as I know

I don't think it downgrade ,what it will do is let you dualboot using second hardrive on which you would have 3.55 as this what I was going to do untill recently when I sold the console

and can i put another hard drive with the 3.55 with any problem? Can you explain it better??

the e3 flasher kit enables you to connect a dock like item on which you can use the second hard drive with 3.55 so when you switch on ps3 you can choose to usen internal 4.0 OFW hdd or boot up second drive with the 3.55 CFW on it so one console but two drives to enjoy CFW and OFW .....i suggest you read up about more there are loads of dedicated forums such as psxscene etc where many people have these kits and can help you further ,i myself have had enough of cfw and have sold the console as i enjoy online gaming so will just use OFW ....i had my fun and had many games on my console but need online

there is in depth discussion and reviews over at ps3-hacks and psxscene google it and check out the forums you will get much more help there as i said i have not used these....also read up on "progskeet" its a e3flasher style device and may be of interest to you too

I come across this earlier too, which lies somewhere between progsket and e3 flasher.

The progsket looks a bit to messy for my liking as much as I love to, i keep talking myself out of it. I wish I didnt upgrade

you couls always sell it and buy a cfw model ? i did the revese as in i sold my cfw as i had enough fun out of it and now going to buy another and just have ofw as i miss onlie ps3 gaming...so instead of updating i just sold it so someone else can enjoy it as many want cfw but just wont attempt in doing ,maybe cuz they are scared of bricking or something .

Although there is some debate as to if they will accept it, but given the date today it may be worth you keeping an eye on it..

As to if Toys R us have white ones sorry I don't know. Is there something special about the white one? Like there was with the PS1?

Id have no chance with mine really its the fat 120GB Edition, so not much interest in those at the mo.

yeah i saw the toys r us thing on hotdeals but unfortunately its a special deal at certain stores and not running in the stores that i can get to within a reasonable distance

Don't mess around with the downgrading if you don't know what you doing. (You could end up having a dead ps3 if you do one mistake )


You are better off selling that ps3 mate and buy a new one with the firmware 3.55 or lower. (Just like I did)

I's a long road but its worth it in the end. Trust me.

Thanks for your input, I was tempted to wait for the dual boot, things seem to be going well with the testing of those, and they seem safer than the prog skeet.

Its not that I don't know what I am doing, im just... clumsy, unless you was talking to one of the other posters in the thread.

Money is a lil tighter than usual, just jacked my job in but I can get hold of some funds.

I would like to learn to downgrade with the prog skeet but I am hoping the dual flasher's I linked above are out soon(er) than I have the money to be able to sell mine and go out and buy a replacement one or go the E3 route, cuse I have waited like forever which is quite impressive for me
