    swap motheboards

    i have two ps3 on not working because of red screen of death and one which is working but fans noises very very loud
    i want to swap the motherboars in the ps3's so the working on has a quite fan and the none working one can be kept for parts
    any tuts on how to do and also is it possible

    i swapped heatsinks using this tut http://www.consolezombie.com/PS3/Son...-Tutorial.html
    and now console is very quite
    when i turned it off the red stanby led was blinking then flashed yellow for a split second then went to red

        just ordered this Electrically Conductive Silver Paint : PCB Pens : Maplin Electronics
        where do i put it, just on heat sink or both bits
        pictures if possible

          Look at the picture before the last on on tutorial above you can see where the two components had what looks like white paste before so basically clean them and re paste them

              i apply the paste inbetween heatsink and cpu used half bottle of those two patchs
              left to set for over 1 hour
              turned on ps3 and after 3mins it ylod again

                Problem is under CPU then you need to fix via hot air rework or better still infrared bga rework station

                  Ages ago i followed a u tube vid about reflowing with a heat gun theres 4 points to reflow and like the guy earlier said use some quality heat paste on the cpu to fan heatsink,done loads some last some dont ?
