PS3 broke - help!!!!!

hey guys, i know f all about fixing ps3's, but i am handy with ic'c and soldering etc.

My sons ps3 has slowly got worse and now died

Local shop man is a complete knob - charged me ?20 for NOT fixing Grrrr.

Some games run for a while then stop, just got new saints row and it will not work, various errors etc etc.

Any experts here??

I really dont want to buy another console as got ps4 pre ordered, so any help MOST welcome, and if your local , I WILL PAY!!!

Did you manage to sort you ps3? i had similar faults and changed the laser now its great
