Fallout 3 patch and connecting to the net

Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone can help me with two problems that have been bugging me for some time now that i havent been able to find a solution too,

1. how can i get a patch for fallout 3 on too my ps3 without connecting my ps3 to the net?

2.I there a way to connect my ps3 to the net using a broadband modem?
(this is why i have the above problem no 1 i can not connect my ps3 to the net to automatically get the patch.)

if there is a way of doing no 1 can someone give instructions on were i can download the patch using my computer and then how to transfer it to my ps3?

Can you not take your ethernet cable from your pc and put into back of ps3?. Scan for the wired connection in the ps3 network settings.

the ps3 is wireless so if you have a wireless router then your ok as the guy said you cant plug it straight into the back of the ps3 as for patches use a usb stick and plug it to your ps3 then just update your game.
