    HDMI not working, any ideas?

I have a 60gb PS3 and when i connected the HDMI it wont show up on the screen but its all fine with the RGB.
It says HDMI detected would you like to use this.
Then I clicked ok, switched to the HDMI and theres nothing on the screen.
I am using a Sony Bravia if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

I have read about this aswell I was hoping if someone else knew how to solve it because ive been searching and cannot seem to find a solution. Sounds a bit stupid that sony tvs and ps3s are not compatible

I am hoping this is not the problem, the warranty seal is intact so I have heard Sony can replace it but I have to pay them because its over a year old

Try hooking it up HDMI to another TV by doing the 5 second reset Video trick.

If it works on that TV then its not compatible on your Bravia.

                  Perhaps :

Does your TV support 1080p? if not if I remember correctly you need to adjust the output display mode to match your tv which you should be able to do with RGB connected(Depending on how old the Bravia is it may only be 720p or 1080i).

Just hold the power buttom then PS3 will automatic find your HDMI connection.

You could also go through the settings using an output that works to manually change the output to HDMI.

Tried that too and I get a black screen

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something or doing something wrong before I decide to put the money down and send it off to Sony

I really appreciate the advice, I have the KDL-52W5000 I think thats the model number, my dads one I've also tested it on is a similar model from the same range just has lower specs

It sounds like a handshake problem, try this

turn your PS3 on using HDMI cable(and leave on), then unplug your T.V, leave the T.V off for 30 secs, then plug back in, this method works when your getting no sound. so might work, also
have you checked all your firmware is up to date, PS3, and T.V(if possible)
