An Australian seller of videogame modchips claims Sony's PlayStation 3 console has been jailbroken by a hack that allows users to run backup and home-brewed copies of games ? not to mention titles that have been pirated.
OzModChips.com posted three videos on YouTube that purport to show a fully current version of the console that is broken using a simple USB dongle. In the video below, the narrator puts a disc copy of God of War III into the PS3's drive and then activates the console's backup manager. He then appears to scroll through a list of games before selecting and running the title Infamous. The videos have been greeted by claims the hack is an elaborate hoax, so the video shows both the TV and the console in full view throughout the demo.
