You wont have to buy it ! its been released onto the Internet as of today you can download it, but it will still need a little work untill it can be used by everyone .... at the moment you cant play backup copys but give it a few weeks and who Knows....

Thanks for the reply. Thats a nifty wee sight got any more i might find useful, bear in mind i have linux on ps3 so a link with that in mind would come in useful.

cool where can i find info on the downloadable version? is it just used with a usb flash?

It's not quite as straight forward as downloading it and popping it onto a usb stick.

You see, it's not a normal usb stick, instead it is a ATmega processor which emulates a 6 ports usb hub with various other sticks connected to the emulated ports, the processor emulates these usb sticks being inserted in a particular order and does it extremely quickly. Currently there are no standard USB memory stick that can do anything like this. So don't expect to be able to downlaod a file and flash it directly to any old usb memory stick.

Whatever you finally decide to use, it must have some sort of processor to control the emulation, currently only AT90USBKEY and Teensy USB Dev Board are capable of this emulatin, people are working on emulation software for the PSP, NDS and even Android phones. So once this is released, it'll be as simple as connecting your PSP or Android phone to your PS3

Oh and there is a team working on software for the PC too.

It requires the current (latest) firmware mate, no doubt by the time Xmas comes along SONY will have patched the current method, but I reckon it'll be hacked again and turn into a good old 'cat and mouse' style hack, just like the PSP.

ive got mine on order , they say its been put back to 10th sept due to an update, now i dont know ifs thats true or they having trouble in cusdoms , ipaid ?91 for mine , i can get the website for u if u need it

I wouldnt bother with these at the moment, clones are coming at $30 each. And the new fw blocks these jb devices, so if you do get one dont update to the latest fw.

Save your money. Patience, wait for a more stock of the teensy ++ v2 boards and get yourself a copy of psgroove.

dont pdate ur firmware if u ever plain to jailbreak it 412 is out and it kills the hack
