luckily i had a nokia n900 and was able to jailbreak the ps3 using that. Backupmanager installed and working.

how do you do this where can you get a free download to then flash in ps3 i need steps to do this thanks

You will need to obtain a AT90USBKEY, or a Teensy 2.0 ++ board.

You will then need to obtain psgroove source and compile it or find a compiled version. Then its just a matter of flashing the AT90USBKEY with Atmel Flip software or the Teensy with the Teensy software and your good to go. Send me a pm mate

Well here an update on my end. Got me a ps3breaker1.1 for about $20. Took awhile to get to me from Hong Kong (2wks). All I got to say it's great to be testing my ps3. I have back up and tested some games already. Also tested some old school SNES and NES already. Got 2 ext. harddrive 2TB each. Its great.
