PS3 groove Question

Hi i understand if i update my ps3 i wont be able to use ps3 groove. i upgraded my hardrive to a bigger one so if i done a system update on my ps3 then put the old hardrive into the ps3 that hasnt been updated with the new system update will i still be able to use psgroove? or once it is updated that it??????

Once its updated its updated mate. Its nothing to do with the HDD.
