Game updates

hi ive transferred games to my ps3 but sometimes it asks me to do the game update is it ok to accept these or do i have to go into file manager and delete them?
ive turned off my psn account so it doent accept any firmware updates

I want to know about this too. Apparently 'heavy rain' is forever asking you to update during the game?

How can we disable this as I imagine it could become annoying!
