    ps3 update problems

hi guys, have recently purchased pes 2011 and having problems updating keeps coming up with error code 80710723, read on a site if i disable the media server this should start the download but no luck. if i i download the the latest firmware 3.50 off the ps website and transfer via usb, will it work? will it need to be done in safe mode?

any advise would be appreciated. thanx

download the update and make a folder in the root of a usb stick and name it PS3,then inside that create a folder called UPDATE and put your update .pup file into that.
Goto your ps3 menu and scroll to usb update and follow the steps.
      Job done

Re-flash your dongle with the file posted here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-files-166676/ and all updates will now work fine

It asks me too for an update on PES11, I clicked cancel (only played it once last night) and the game loaded. Should i be using some sort of update? Didnt wanna connect and accidently update firmware on my first evening as a JB'er. If so, which update file do I use? Im on a V1 usbbreak, so no updating of the actual JB dongle im afraid.
