Ok firstly a little background;
I bought a PS3 when they first came out, realised that I preferred the 360 and got rid.. In Jan of this year, i was walking past cash creators and saw a ps3 fat 40gb for sale ?95! I was in the market for a new console after 360 went kaput, so i bought it....
Now on the night of Monday 25th October this year, I downloaded the 3.50 update.. restarted and the ps3 would not play ANY discs whatsoever.
Entered service menu, restore ps3, yadda yadda, still nothing...
Oh well thought I, it was a bargain, i had 10 months of use, cant really complain.
Now on tuesday, after a bit more research, i decided to give sony customer services a ring.. they denied that 3.50 was the problem, even though it seemed very coincidental, and i was able to point out that others on the web were having same prob.
Upside is they agreed to send out a replacement console today (27/10/10).
Remember, my original console was WAY outside the original 1 yr warranty, so if anybody has or have had this problem, i suggest ringing sony, it seems they know there is a problem but are just not admitting it
