3 Beeps & Red Power Light

My PS3 beeps 3 times then the power light goes red. I have tried replacing the hard drive with a new WD 250gb 5400rpm but it still beeps. I have tried re-seating the HDD but no luck.

    Any suggestions would be welcomed

Thanks, seems it could be a few things - someone on another board told me the motherboard needs reflow.

That's the problem with the ps3 no real error codes just beeps and flashing leds which indicate general hardware failure ,I have fixed a few but I am no guru but I have found that when it just beeps and goes red that was psu and when you get green, yellow flashing red that's reflow if it does need to be reflowed fix it then flog it as it will never be the same it will last 6 months if your lucky then you have to do it all over again....Let us know what the problem turned out to be.

I have a ps3 that gives blank screen. Turns off after 30 seconds. Fan is very very quiet (may not be on). Not YLOD. Lets you get into service menu but won't access hard drive either for format or file fix. Tried other drives but no good. Reflowed board. Done YLOD repair. Could this be a PSU fault?
Any help would be a god send.
