    External Drive Format..??

    if i were to purchase a External HDD for the PS3 does the drive need to be Fat32 for the drive to be readable. wont there be a conflict with filesize's FAT32 wont allow large files...??

    Yeah your right it is a pain and there seems to be no way around it ,We just have to play games with individual files larger than 4GB from the internal drive.
    The good thing is I have found that most games DO run of an external drive with no problems

        hi there just use this tool i wont link it as new here and not sure if its allowed but google it it is free ware from hp ( hewlet packard)

        HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool

        use it and you will be able to install games to play from external hdd or transfer games from it with larger files that 4g to external

        hope this helps you guys

          You can format a large HD to Fat32 with a formatter software. This has been posted on here, just search Fat32 you will find it. You can play films larger that 4 gig with a PS3 media Server software. Play games is not that simple.
