PS3 only accepts FAT32 format on external drives!!,same as xbox. You have to format the drive to FAT32 for the PS3 and XBOX for them to recognize the drive!! Hope this helps

PS3Splitter is not the answer to the 4gb fat32 external drive problem because you still have to rejoin the files using gaia or open manager etc before you can play them the only reason I can see to using PS3Splitter is if your having ftp problems...Buy a nice big internal

was gonna say. i think ive heared that if u want to use files over 4gig u need to use an internal HDD, i got a 640gig Harddrive from amazon for ?50

You sure about that ? like I said I've not tried it, but I read somewhere that it allows you to play the split file on an external rather than having to send it to the internal,
But feel free to put me right

Yeah sadly that is the score at the moment you can't play games with splitted files from external drive..But with things moving so fast with Team fail0verflow en al hopefully we will soon be seeing a custom firmware that may put an end to this fat32 limitation (wishful thinking)..I mean it only took a day to get Need for Speed Hot Pursuit playable.
