Yes it works I used it with Heavy Rain on 3.41 I had to update the game (not the firmware!!!) before I could use it but all was good...
Why you still on 3.41?

it took me ages to get games working on my ps3 now they work i dont see what difference it will make changing it

i have 2 ps3 on 3.41, does 3.55 cfw mean no dongle? as i only have 1 dongle so may look into updating 1

Yeah no dongle and you don't have to mess about with modifying eboots to get the likes of GT5 and Black Ops running just turn on and go I have even updated those games without breaking them.
I'm on Kmeaw CFW 3.55 with multiMAN v1.15.00 backup manager and it works very well indeed.

Waninkokos Version 2 CFW also looks good but after all the bricks caused by Version 1 I am not keen to give it a go.....yet!!!
