    original psp faulty

I have a original psp, at moment it keeps getting stuck when trying to load game (original). I have to take battery off and then try it again and sometime it works and most of time it doesnt. Do I need to do some sort of firmware update. Any help appreciated.

Do a search for HellCat's Recovery Flasher and it will get you to 5.00m33-6.

Like JTH said most probably the drive is dying. you can change the drive but it requires much knowledge and experience. On the other hand installing CFW is much easier and you can always recover from any mistake you'll make. You need a Pandora battery avaliable very cheap and a original memory stick 1GB will do. (magic gate enabled. All the sony original cards work).
then just follow this brilliant guide by someone not me on you tube
