    New dash stops non-ap2.5 working

    Taken from TeamXecuter...

We tested the new Beta Dashboard 2.0.13141.0 and can confirm that all games that are NOT AP2.5 patched fail to boot to a black screen (Previous LT+ Non-AP2.5 symptoms) - there is still a lot more testing on really old games so we will keep you posted.

So (as suspected) AP2.5 will be activated across the board once the new dash is released, and also as suspected, LT+ has shown to still work by protecting the system from a flag and bypassing the AP2.5 check. (Naturally we expect the AP2.5 checks to get harder and deeper so this is just the beginning)

C4E has confirmed that there WILL be a public method to rip your own AP2.5 data from titles thanks to all the new AP2.5 Table information that was discovered a few weeks back.

C4E also looks forward to receiving the new Halo Reach XGD3 disc

A fun summer ahead for sure.

.....Standby for a number of HUGE releases by C4E, Team Jungle & Team Xecuter very shortly.......

I have just been reading the same thread. There are also qustions on the games patched with ap25 black ops fable ect. Some reports that they ain't booting either.

So what we have is this. All non ap25 and if cases are comfirmed those that patched will have to be re ripped and burnt.

New 0800 fw is coming to enable ap25 rips. For liteon and benq drives as sammy don't support ap25.

New firmware for 9504 drives (slim approx pre aug/july 2010) within 96 hours according to c4e speaks.

New disk format also coming soon.

Any more news development I will post as per or someone will beat me to it

Off now to buy shares in aonne or verb

Looks like a pretty full on attack on the hackers from MS. Things are still sweet if you're not interested in online LIVE play. Jtag xbox or CFW PS3 are fine by me.

UPDATE: It's even worse than first thought. It appears the update actually modifies the drive. The guys on 360iso have reported not being able to read FW and the fw version changing on the inquiry data after updating!

Update does not modify drive!! Just hides the key. If you try dumping it you will get all 0000000s. Mra hack is required to get key. If you are sensible and have the key then reflash to stock then reflash lt+ and games that are not ap2.5 will boot.

This is actually very interesting, if ms are moving the drive inquiry then they are modifying the drive fw from a dash update. I am also wondering what else they are going to be able to do with updates? Just read the IRC logs from C4evaspeaks (not the best place for info) but c4 says the new dash flashing the drive.

It going to be a very interesting year i think. Best advice at the moment, dont do any dash updates to the beta dash of 2.0.13141.0

From what I have been reading it flashes liteon drives back to stock firmware. Flashing them back again and games boot as before. Reports advise benq drives unaffected.
