    hello folks. i have recently bought a new x box 250gb for my son. first there were problems with wirless. now i want to add some movies to the hard drive. after 2 days of trying i have given up. i asked a friend and he said you could only add if you buy them on xbox,. please some one tell me if thats true or not.

    Not true. Use the media centre on the xbox. Link it with your pc. It gives you a code to enter into the PC.

    You can then play movies from your shared folder on your pc providing you update the codecs on the xbox online.

    There are also other softwares out there that allow you to stream to the xbox.

      You can stream from the pc as stated before or you can play them off a external hard drive or usb stick but it has to be formatted in fat32 to work. Also you will need the codecs as already stated off xbox live.

      You could use the media centre off the xbox to a media pc windows 7/vista to play them then you wont need the codecs installed on the xbox as it uses codecs installed on the pc
