Newbie, please help

Hi, have picked up a modded xbox 360 from ebay.

It has not arrived but i have a few questions i hope someone can help me out with:-

With it being already modded, will i just be able to play copied games as like original, or as like the Wii, do you have to go through a pre-loader?

Will i be able to update the system software, or will this brick the box?

I wont no what software they used to mod the box, will i be able to find this out, and can i update this, i understand i need a key for the drive, which i obvioulsy wont have, is it still possible to reflash/update?

But am i right in saying, i wont be able to update the flash because i dont have the original cd key? no way around that?

Jungleflasher will read the key depending on what drive is in it
