Wifi woes on unmodded slim

My brothers slim just took the update, hes not modded so no big deal right?
Wrong.

Since the update the internal wifi wont work correctly.

It sees the router, and semi connects...
Semi in that it says it connects, assigns an ip address and just stays like that, no further connection is possible.
On the network test it doesn't even get as far as the network never mind internet or live.
It does however connect to the router.

Ive rebooted the router, port forwarded, DMZ'd just to test at one point, checked all the filter tables.
Manually assigned both the IP and DNS on the xbox and let it auto assign.
Turned off UPNP and turned it back on.
Nothing.

Like i said it connects but wont get any further than assigning an IP to the unit :/

Its frankly got me stumped, and its only ever done this since he updated last night.
Spend a few hours tweaking to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Same here on slim 9504 model. Will report back just trying to sort it out. Works fine of lan but not wireless.

Yeah same story, via ethernet its fine.

Tried everything i can think of, altered channels, altered spec A/B/G and N.
Tweaked the MTU
Forwarded relevant ports.
DMZ'd
Manually assigned the IP and DNS
Went back to auto.
Went from WPA to WPA2 to WEP to wide open...

Nothings changed, its still connected but not connecting.
Never seen the like!

I've not ad the thing open, its not my unit, just my headache :/

Rebooted it numerous times, just about to reboot it off a wall! just not playing the game, everything else on the network works flawlessly, just the ecksbawks thats not playing nicely

If you remove the top grill its there in a usb slot. Not sure if you cabut could be worth trying to find out if you could do a system cache clear on slims

I buckled under the sleepless nights and bought him a wifi to eth bridge.

Problem solved!
Christ knows what the problem actualy is, like i said ive thrown hours at the problem, tweaked every setting imaginable, even accessed the router via telnet and manulay configured to make sure it wasnt some kind of web based config glitch.
Nada.

Money well spent for getting home from work to a telephone with no desperate messages!

personally i think if he would have rung microsoft they would have gave him free xbox and taken old one, When my xbox 360 Elite 120GB console broke, they sent me xbox360 Elite 120GB with 2 controllers, A new headset, A plug and play kit, A wifi adapter in black, and sky player for 3 months..... not sure why, I think its cause of how aggressive i was on the phone :/
