Hitachi drives and new update infor for you

Just to let you know I have been seeing that people with a hitachi drive have been able to install the new update and their drive is still flashed and playing online.

My liteon updated and I lost my flash after hearing about the hitachi drive I bit the bullet and have updated and can confirm LT1.1 is still on there and i can still play backups even black ops. I keep checking my online status with XVAL to see if I have been flagged for banning and so far after a few hours of playing XVAL still reporting I havnt been flagged. I might in the future, who knows, will just have to wait and see.

So its upto you, this is just my experience and if you update thats upto you and your gamble.

would i still be able to do this with a benq spoofed as a hitachi or would i need to buy a hitachi

Not sure but i would think it would be best for you if you keep the benq to wait for the new LT to be released which by the sounds of it is just around the corner, I'm only takin a gamble with the hitachi as I have another box with a liteon if I happen to get banned with the hitachi.

i got a 360 for free from a mate of mine for fixing one for him' it had a liteon 74850c drive in it' the laser was shot so i done the mra hack on it and got the key from it with jungleflasher i had a spare hitachi 79 drive so i stuck that in and spoofed it to a liteon but the 360 would not update with new dash it kept coming back with error so i flashed the hitachi back to stock with no key and it updated it no bother and the best thing was it also paired the drive to the console with the key from the orignal liteon drive ' then i reflashed the hitachi drive back to LT+1.1 which i didnt have to spoof anymore but for some strange reason it seemed to make the drive go weird after the dash update i could get the drive into mode B but everytime i put the 79 unlock cd into the drive it kept spitting it back out before i had time to click 79 unlock on jungleflasher' it worked in the end but i had to do it really quick before the drive would spit it back out again. it must have somthing to do with the new update or something' ive never seen it happen before.anyway it all works fine now and signs into live ok.

No offence mate, but no way did the update link that drive to the console. Its impossible.

does it matter what firmware the drive is ie can i put 0047dj firmware on a newer hitachi drive

Dont think so, it checks the drive OSIG, and not the fw I think.

No offence mate, but no way did the update link that drive to the console. Its impossible.

well its funny how i flashed back to hitachi stock firmware with the dvd key all zeros it even took the new dash without it then when i connected the drive back to my pc with jungleflasher the key was there' must be the new dash that does it thats all i can think of.

just an update, two days later and still online, xval still coming back clean, got hold of dirt3 and have been playing that aswell as black ops

HI, i have a Samsung drive, i hear this could also be updated and not have FW wiped, does anyone no if this is true or is just the Hitachi drives?

someone a few weeks ago said they had a hitachi drive for sale and would flash it for me as everytime i try flash a hitachi it bricks,just wondering if u still have it or anyone else who might have 1 for sale and can flash it for me let me know asap as i need 2

what happends to the drive when trying to flash it?

try taking all the ribbon wires off b4 you flash it!

it reads drive everything goes fine till i write firmware to it,it gets so far then says failed and thats it drive wont work no longer.ive done 2 and same thing happened to both and they spoofed with benqs but now with this new update they need original drives
