Can you find which drive you have without ....

Hey is it possible to find out which drive i have without actually opening the case ..

So i can make sure I
1 have ordered the right kit and got the right software to flash ..

2 so i can read a bit more about doing my specific drive .

Yes. Either via the tray, or via the wires, or via the sticker. Depends on if its phat or slim. Phats take front off, and look at wire colour, that will tell you the drive. With slim, look at the sticker through the grill. Orange is 9504, yellow is 0225.

Well look at the wires on the phat.

White - Benq
Red - Samsung
Yellow - Liteon
None - Hitachi
