xbox 360 not reading Aone branded DL DVD's

So heres my problem guy's i just bought a 50 pack of aone dl dvd's as i got them for a reasonable price but my 360 dvd drive refuses to read aone backups regardless of what speed i burn them at ive even calibrated the pot to see if it would make the discs more readable but nada the backups do show up as games but as soon as i try to play the game i get the dirty disc error / this disc is unreadable the drive i have is a phillips liteon .

I normally buy verbs but compared to other brands they're still expensive so i was looking for an alternative.

I was wondering if i replaced the laser with another liteon/ benq laser would it possibly make a difference or would it be a complete waste of time ?

Chances are the laser is on its way, you say you've tried a pot callibration? TBH for the price of a drive, i'd replace the drive. But changing the laser should work.

Every verb disc that i have burned has worked flawlessly just seems to be the aone discs it doesn't like.

Yeah the pot has been calibrated before as it stopped reading backups but has worked fine since it was last calibrated with all the other backups but i tried calibrating it again slightly to see if the aones would work but it didn't so pot is back to the way it was before and still works with the verbs.

Laser costs ?6 on ebay which i can do myself compared to the ?23/?30 price tag for a new drive also saves the hassle of swapping keys and flashing the drive again and takes about the same time to replace the laser

Unfortunatly mostly what i have seen some lasers can be weaker than others, so cheaper media dont work to well with weaker lasers. Can be the case with most drives.

Is it a Phat Liteon that you've flashed? Did you disconnect the laser ribbon from the PCB? This has been known to burn out the laser, this could contribute to our weak laser.

Either way, new laser or drive, its upto you but that should cure it.

I had a friend flash the drive when LT+ 1.1 was released by phat im assuming you mean from the older white consoles the actual drive is quite slim compared to older drives like the sammy and old hitachi ive had in other consoles the lasers ribbon has never been removed when i have opened the drive.

If a new laser will more than likely fix the problem then i'll order on on fleabay i was just a bit puzzled as to why it wouldn't read aones but reads verbs, arita with the occasional problem and also tesco's own branded dl discs when most folk swear by aone as cheap but still good for backups.

Some drives will not play aones. I have had a few that wont play that brand of disc for some reason. You could try some arita discs, or another cheap brand.

This happened to me, try doing the pot tweak on your laser. All you need is a multimeter and a small screwdriver. It doesn't take too long to do and it's pretty simple.
