Just fort i would let everyone know that dead island has also been released on the old disc format and as we speak is doing the rounds on most good and some bad torrent sites....Back of the net!

I went to put on this game and it asked to update ..

Half way through updating it, comes up that it can't read the update from the disc and seems to be in some loop ...

(pressed green when i shoulda pressed red)

When I start the Xbox, it comes straight up on that screen again ..and not the dash board .. Am I ~~~~ed....?

Any ideas ..?

First off try and get the original game and take the update from that

I've heard it reflashes your console back to stock half way through the update. Reflash your 360 drive to lt 1.91 then put your dead rising disc back in and it should update.

Until you reflash your drive it will loop I think

If its a later dash than 2.0.13146.0 then it willl for the XDG3 support. Unsure if reflashing of the drive works. Heard multiple fixes or suggestions but as i always return to stock and take update over net then wont affect me.

Try from orig disc, if no, maybe usb

When I boot the Xbox up ..

I just get a status code and it's asking me to insert the disc for update ...

Let it unplugged overnight ..

Justvpowered it up and it straight to the black update screen ...

Think my mate has the gear I need to reflash it ...

All drive flashes can be done via jungleflasher. However you still might need the original copy of the game it failed on. I'd try to rent it out. If the update has flashed the drive then you will need to reflash it back to a CFW

Might be a problem as the pirated version is on xdg2 disc, whereas the uk version is on an xdg3 disc. Probably easier to install the update off a USB or something.

Thats if it will allow it. Depends on where its gotten stuck. Was reading on TX Forums with users with same issue, was recomended that the update was taken from the original game as they could not use usb.

I Havnt been able to get a rental of dead island ...

So I'm in my mates gaff now box in bits n we're gonna try n flash this thing :-)

Gonna have a crack at flashing it with JF using ixtreme LT+ 1.91

it's a liteon DG-16D2S-09C

If I follow the jungle flasher tutorial here it's should be ok ...
