streaming video's to xbox slim

Hi all
tried streaming film on home network vlc file(.avi) played on xbox 360 slim xbox found it in my video's watch it no problem down loaded another video both in my video's on computer switched xbox on following day to watch second film xbox say's no video's found both are in same folder on computer but when go to my video's in xbox no video's found cant understand what is happening any help at all
