Information:
As everyone knows, or will soon know, a new method has been released that now allows you to run Xell on a Slimline Xbox 360,and also on Jasper and Zephyr motherboards that are ABOVE and UNDER the 7371 dashboard.
The people who figured all this out are still working on it for Falcons,so this won't work for them yet,be patient.
Google search for a link to MiniUzi's post about how this can be achieved:
Supported Motherboards:
Valhalla (Slim)
Jasper
Zephyr
Falcon is being worked on as we speak.
Xenon consoles will not be supported.
Opus probably won't be,but possibly may.
What This Means:
Previously, only Xenons, Zephyrs, Falcons, Opus' and Jaspers on / under the 7371 dashboard could be exploitable to be JTAGGED and run unsigned code. The Slimline consoles were never exploitable in the past and were, previous to today, thought to never be exploited to the JTAG hack.
This now means, EVERY Xbox 360 console is now exploitable.
(Subject to the finalizing and release of the methods for the other motherboards)
Why This Is A Big Deal:
This is a huge deal because now Slim Consoles which were thought to not be exploitable whatsoever, can now run Xell, which allows you to retrieve your CPU key, thus allowing you to JTAG your Xbox 360.
The way Microsoft patched JTAGs in the past was all updates above 7371 blew the efuses that Xell / Xellous booted off, meaning you couldn't install and boot Xell, stopping you from getting the CPU Key, which is a primary step in JTAGGING a console.
What this basically does, is allow you to once again boot into Xell and get your CPU Key then from there you go along the old method of JTAGGING the console.
What This Does Not Do:
This will not get your console to run unsigned code and connect to Xbox Live.
This will not allow you to bypass server checks.
This will not allow you to host MW2 unlock all lobbies again.
This does one and one thing only.
It allows all Xbox 360 consoles to be JTAGGED, they will be able to do what every other JTAG can do.
Only thing is, at the moment, you cannot boot into the retail dashboard for the console, or any other dashboard.
Additional Information:
You will only be able to boot into Xell, there is no Dashboard to boot into, meaning you can't turn on your console after doing this and go onto the Microsoft dashboard.
You'll need a new kind of rebooter so to speak, so that the exploit can be taken advantage of fully.
Since this is new it probably has a few bugs and issues in it, over time it will probably be perfected and made easier as it is revised.
This is already a huge development in Homebrew and Modding, but I'm sure over the coming weeks this will get much bigger.
