    BAD FLASH NEED ADVICE

flashed my first 360 about 6 months ago, totally f****d it up, never backed up key and lost the lot after dumping firmware.

was told at the time there was no way of retrieving the key as software for geting info from mb didn't excist.

is that still the case ? don't want to hang on to box for ever.

have successfuly flashed about 8 boxes since then, think i was trying to run before i could walk on the first one !

    any help is much appreciated

    cheers

not sure about software existing to extract the key. I'd sell it in bits, at least that way you'd get some cash for it.

If the drive controller is still working then your key will be safe.

If you have written to the drive without taking a backup first, there's no way to get the key.

If it hasn't been written over but the drive is just broken, you can get someone with the right skills to desolder the firmware flash chip and read it on an external programmer.

There is still no way to recover a key from a 360 without a working, matched drive. You need to boot into linux to get the key from the motherboard, which needs a game exploit, which needs it able to play games.

at all did you save the key to the hdd of the pc?

Then maybe a data recovery program?
