    console noise

    hi

i got an xbox360 s 4gb (flashed) about a week ago but i only just tried it out today.

i don't know what drive is inside it, but all i know it it was manufactured in april 2011, also i don't know what firmware is installed.

anyway, the game was a backup of gears of war2, during the beginning introduction cut scenes etc i kept getting a really loud vibrating noise (loud to get peoples attention in the room) then just when i get to the point i have to play the game, i got the read disc error saying clean the game etc.

tried another another game wwe 2011, i get the loud noise at menu loading points and cutscenes, during gameplay it quietens down.

anybody out there know if this noise is normal (at loading points, cutscenes or wheverver), as i'm sure this slim 4g has been advertised to be the quietest xbox 360 console ever.

i think i will have to retest it with many other games, just incase this is a faulty console.

    thanks alot.

hi smirnoff, the backup discs are silver at the bottom, factory made i'm guessing.

if it is a disc issue, should i get an external hdd and try copying the back up onto the external hdd, i noticed there's a copy to hdd option, but not sure if that works on flashed consoles, does it?

You need a hard drive internal 1.

Purchase some verb dvd+dl and see if noise persists. Could be a fw issue. Would have been helpfull if we know what fw was on the drive
