I think so, unless its old stock, you need baseline versions that are MTK

Apparently you cant tell from packing, only on label of the drive

Can I connect this through my via card as its the only SATA connection I have on the pc (yeah its old ) & I don't use it anymore as I have a usb pro?

i think so, because the sata card is just basically extensions.

well some games for example like gears of war or rage are xgd3,
but the 0800 rips which have been burnt with clonecd or imgburn are suppose to be fine,
but this burner is for the games like forza 4 and any other future games which will have the civ check.

anyways checked the label and its defo the B version!

just thought i'd let peeps know incase anyone else ordered that one!
it comes with some nero essential disc and theres no sata cables, just the dvd drive!

I'm having terrible trouble burning the xgd3 0800 rip of batman . immageburn keeps failing as does clone cd..

Is a drive like this esential for burning the new 0800 xgd3's

as i've wasted bout 12 discs allready and am busting my balls to play this
