    swaping xbox drives?

hi guys is it possible to swap xbox drives over? the one i have wont open ive replaced the laser and when the laser isnt connected it opens as normal when i reconnect the ribbon cable to the laser it says its opening but doesnt ive also changed the drive belt and its still the same.

If u don't play online at all then you are safe to swap your current drive witha different make and spoof as original.

To spoof/write fw to new drive in JF, just load original fw/key from your old drive as source and relevent LT+2.0 for the make of drive you are using as target fw and click 'spoof source to target'. JF will show new drive spoofed as make/model of old one, check keys match, then write as normal.

Must stress though this methos is NOT safe for online play.

    Hope this helps.

If you are going to buy a new drive then why would you need to swap the circuit boards?? If you buy a new drive which is the same make/model as the old one then all you have to do is flash the info from the old drive to the new one and it's job done. Also, that would be safe online.

Swapping circuit boards would only work if the two drives you have are exactly the same make/model - If they are, then just do the above - It's only unsafe online if you use a different make/model of drive and spoof it as something else.
