Renting Games a Cheaper option?

Need some advise guys! After completing games, they tend to just sit around! After spending about a week maximum on completing most fully. I wonder is it worth forking out 30/40 and sometimes 50 pounds on new games all the time?? I am not really a big online gamer who requires online features. LoveFilm are charging 15 pounds per month for 3 disks, dvd/games? Blockbuster doing the same aswell?

So should I just rent? What are the pros cons of both options?

If i was you not being a big online player. I would flash my console and get them for free'ish. That way you can always go back to a game if you liked it.

I dont want to bother flasing it to be honest. To scared and most of the time I dont go back to playing it. Once Im done im done, if it is a must then I would probably buy it new. So you reckon I should rent?

If you say it takes you a week or so to finish a game then it sounds more feasible to rent. You could also make a backup of the rented games you may want to play again, just in case you ever wanted to flash in future.

That's one other perk of renting games, making backups so not waste your bandwidth downloading them.

backups? You mean copying the game disk? How can that be done...only be this flashing technique Im guessing...

Well you could easily backup the games using the dvd drive in your pc. Although I'm not to up to date on these newer disks they are now using and how easy it is to make backups without needing to buy a certain drive etc. Older games though are pretty easy to backup on pc, then you patch them and burn them and play on a flashed console.

Also if you dont mind opening the xbox up, if I remember correctly you can also make backups using the xbox drive connected to your pc.

I dont really want to bother with opening up the console and copying the data. Although this would be great. Its just my collection of games is stacking up and up. I think I will go for the LoveFilm 15 pounds a month, 3 disks including games. Better then spending 30 /40 pounds per game. Yes you can keep, but as I dont really go back to completed games what the point!
