Xbox 360 Remote Connection Button to console is stiff... Can i fix?!?

Hello... Iv had my xbox 360 for a couple of years now. Months ago i let my friend barrow my remote for a week or whatever. Well i tried to connect it and that little white button on the console was stiff. Soooo can i like fix this?? I started using wired remotes but i dislike it allot. >:l Sorry iv only been speaking english for 2 years.. just in case my spelling is bad. i dont know sorry

With the front of the console facing you and standing up straight. Put your hand under the bottom front and pull the face of the console. With the face of now push the white button and you will see if a bit of dirt has gotten into it. If the white button if free you will be able to push the little black button that the white button connects to.
