    Benq drive wont stay closed

Have a benq drive that the tray was jamming, opened it up, cleaned it up, now it the tray wont stay closed.

Green light remains flashing meanin the is open, press eject button to close, second or so later, the drive pops back open.

Was flashed month or so back and untouched since then, so shouldnt be firmware related.

    Any ideas?

    TIA.

Will give that a blast later.

Right, this is deffo a motherboard issue.

Changed the power cables, no difference.

Hooked up my ck3i, powered it via that, not reading disks but. Gonna adjust the pot and see if that helps read the disk.

As for how I'm gonna get the drive ejecting properly who knows. Lol

Deffo closing fully, like i say, fine when its hooked upto the ck3i, apart from not reading the disk, which will be a seperate issue.

Reading up trying a different drive wont work either, its been tried.

              Heres exactly what its doing

Yes, ejects and closes with the buttons on the ck3i. When attached via sata to the xbox.

Took it and flashed back to stock, still the same.

Will hook it up and vendor it, read it etc and post the results later when i get back on my desktop.

Ive tried every 'fix' on youtube and non of them work.

Im 99% sure its mobo related as once i get it hooked upto my computer and the xbox, the ck3i ejects and loads the tray no bother, not sure about JF, will try later.

Also ive noticed my lazer doesnt flash when ive got the drive in the xbox, lid off the drive, and its staying open.

                    Totally flung me this one.

Now after a wee bit of messing about, ive discovered the tray wont open because of the top magnet. whens theres contact, the tray sticks.

As for the not staying closed issue, not idea, drive worls spot on when hooked upto my pc and ck3i, ejects and loads no bother, unless theres contact between the 2 magnets.

I doubt the motherboard is the cause its a faulty drive deffo its a common fault apparently I bought a 360 from game a while back and it started doing that as you describe it wont stay in no matter what.

To cut it short you need a new dvd drive

Will give that a try, but i cant figure why it works ok with the ck3i and not the xbox.
