streaming to xbox360 from pc

have been told i can get youtube on xbox360 but is it possible to stream movies from pc to xbox to watch on tv, do i need to insall software if it s possible, cheers

Yes it is possible. You can just use windows media player to share a library of videos. As long as media player is running you will see the media on the Xbox video app. The Xbox will only play certain formats though I think WMV MPG and AVI there may be more. I tend to stick to AVI. I use a linux box with Twonkymedia server installed on an oldish laptop with a 500gig HDD. You can also get NAS boxes with media sharing already built in based on Twontymedia or their own upnp service. If you already have a windows box the quickest and easiest will probably be windows media player.
