hi everyone going to flash my sons xbox tonight (hopefully)i have bought a ck3i mini and a 6421 pci card i have jungle flasher and the latest 3.0 firmware downloaded but i have read that you have to put original firmware back on box before flashing ,but i dont have original firmware as i have been getting it flashed from somebody i had just got it reflashed before silent update and he plays online by the way its a benq drive . thanks for looking

You just have to dump the firmware from the drive using benq tutorial found on here to get drivekey. Once you have the drivekey return drive to stock, you'll find the benq stock firmware included in the lt+ 3.0 firmware pack. Once returned to stock update the console to latest dash, once its updated proceed to flash with 3.0 benq firmware. Benq drives are very easy to flash.
Btw if the console recieved silent update online with previously modded firmware its most likely been flagged already which would make returning to stock firmware before updating pretty pointless.

Must have been older games on xgd2 format as the newer xgd3 games after silent update would'nt boot without lt 3.0? and if he's been playing online since silent update the console would already have the latest dash. If the console is clean i would always return to stock before upgrading firmware.
