another noob needs help

picked up a 120gb elite with backup games but need help
the games i got play fine but before i make a lot of coasters please help

info ive found so far
got a liteon drive with yellow wires
system info say 20135990

aint got a clue what firmware / dash ?? i got and dont know if i gotta update before making more games
all seems a bit confusing so far . what should i be looking for

You are on dash 13599. Your drive fw will probably be LT+1.91 or mayby LT+2.0. You should be thinking about getting your xbox dashboard updated to the latest and also your drive fw updated to LT+3.0. As you are still new you need to be prepared for a lot of coatser. If you update to LT+3.0 you should also be thinking about a new ihas burner for your pc as the new games no longer fit on the current dl discs.

If its flashed to 2.0.13599.0 Your drive will now be 0251 revision

I'd return it to stock. Update dashboard then update drive to 3.0. As marti said you should look into a ihas burner

to be honust i think the ihas was a bit of a con.
Ive never had a non working truncated disk yet ( always burn at slowest speed )

But with truncated discs you ain't going to get all the image onto the disc are you? You can physically see the difference between xdg2 and xdg3 burns.

Some discs you will get away with it if the extra 100+mb of space does not have any security checks inside it. If it does this can lead for a flag to ban. Like forza 4 suppose to have extra checks when first released

and burned with a normal dl drive
also i assume being flagged is only online ( wont be playing online )

just got a ihas burner, is there any need to update burners firmware before i burn pre xbgx games

No but you may aswell as the burner max fw will burn everythin a normal burner will

If you want to burn XDG3 games CORRECTLY then you need to flash the drive to burner max fw.

But if you patch the images to topology data you will need LT3.0 on your xbox drive
