Xbox family live issue?

Ok so I have family live and problem i'm having...

2 xbox's
mw3 new maps through elite premium
On one box both me and my son can sign in and play new maps

On other box we can both sign in but only i can play new maps he gets told to buy them

Any ideas why he can on one box but not on the other?

The reason is because the purchase is linked to console and user name being used when the purchase is made, I presume you have bought the maps on your console in your user name. This will allow anybody who uses that console to use the maps or allow your user name to use the maps on any console. The purchase is linked to the user name AND console. The way around it in future is to use your sons user name(id tag) on your console to buy anything. That way when he signs back into his own console the maps will still be available to his user name but you will still be able to use them with your user name on your console as well as anybody else logged into the purchase console, one word of warning though is that only your sons user name will be able to access the maps on another console, so if he has mates logged into his console the maps won't be available. So if you go with this work around think carefully about which console you would like anybody to be able to use the purchase on then make your purchase with the user name matched to the other console.

I e-mailed ms and they said its a licence thing, 1 set of maps 1 licence for 1 person so in theory my boy shouldnt be able to play the new maps at all or even be playing my original copy of mw3. Each member of my family should have their own original copy

Yes I have original MW3 and paid for elite premium.

Told them it was unfair that even though i have gold family i would still have to pay for the maps for each individual member, not going to do that.

Told him ms were a bunch of money grabbing B**tards

Log into your console with your sons name and see if his name can access the maps without you being logged in, then try logging into your sons console with your user name. The maps should be available in both scenarios. If they are then my theory is correct and anybody logged into the console the maps were bought on can play them and the user name that they were purchased under can use them on any console.

that's exactly my point if you buy them on your console with his name, anybody that plays on your console will have them available but his name will be able to play them on any console as they are linked to console and gamer tag that was used to purchase them

Thats exactly my point ms want me to pay for them again for each family member as you can only have 1 game licence per person so as I have a family live membership (me and three others) if we all played mw3 I would have to buy the map pack 4 times infact if all 4 of us liked playing mw3 in theory according to ms support I should buy 4 copies of mw3 (1 game licence per person) and thats what I'm saying ms are money grabbing fekers
