    Red ring of death light!

I have just had my xbox 360 modded the other day and my other half was playing disneyland (original game) and for some reason it had difficulty saving the game in gameplay, it was also freezing abit as well, it therefore wanted to update during this but after the restart i was taken to the xbox 360 screen then the red ring of death appeared with an error code of E38.

The red light only shows one light but I decided to remove the hard drive as i thought it may be overheating then started it back up without the hard drive in and it booted normally to the xbox menu??

So is this possbly that the hard drive is now faulty as I had a problem saving game play beforehand?

The game seems to play again but without the hard drive in its slot.

Yes it was E38, I did try a few times and my other half said it came up with another code after that but I didnt pay attention to that at that time as i was thinking about why this had happened all of a sudden???

E68: Hard Drive Error - Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well.

Picked up a 20gb hard drive and that seems to boot up fine so its looks like its the other drive at fault here. Strange cos you can hear it starting to spin up but fails after 30secs or so.
