Disc Drive replacement gone wrong, help?

Hey there. Got a 360 Elite here, drive type is a Liteon. I had bought the replacement and switched the whole laser unit over as the board is soldered in place(less hassle). Now I am getting a white screen with 360 logo, or when i pot tweak the drive, it goes to the 'place this disc in an xbox 360 console yada yada', I have tried cleaning the laser with alchohol wipes. I don't know what else i can do, please help anyone?

Sounds like you haven't fitted the drive properly. Any reason you didn't just flash the new drive?

I've fitted a few drive replacements, it was basically the same with this. I've tried re-fitting another 2 times and same errors everytime :/ really starting to buy me, I don't know how to flash drives.

Try changing laser ribbon cable also. Make sure that all connections are sound. Flashing a new drive would have been easiest option

are original or backups causing the issue?

Did you remember to remove the anti-static de-solder blob?
