replacement laser not working

today received a replace laser as other one stop reading my backups

connected it all up and place a disc in came up once saying reading on dashboard and within a second went off went back to saying open tray
when i open it up an connect to usb pro
i press eject button and that works so does the lights on laser
so i cant work out why it wont read backuos

Did u remove the anti static blob of solder

no didnt remove as didnt say to

ive just taken apart with no plastics and tried playing disc and it works

Not to sure about replacement slim lasers but phat have an anti static blob of solder. Will look when I get on pc

ok as i said in update got it working but with out case on (black plastics top, bottom, sides)

So does this laser play backups. As in reads ok

yes it does

sort this out now the white plastic inside the dvd drive by laser it wasnt screwed in tight enuff
every time the laser tried reading disc would rattle the console then cause it to get different readings
