    xbox issue

    hi guys hope you can help me so here goes ,my xbox dvd started to play up the tay would open and close fine but the game would not load proper . at the time that was the only issue so i contacted someone on ebay selling new drives and he told me i would have to send him the old one so he could transfer the firmware to the new one m fine i thought so I did .
    today i got the new drive back and was all excited and plugged the new one in and straight away i got the 3 red flashing light of death .can someone tell me if its a drive issue before i have it out with the guy on mondau on the phone as he might try to blag me ect .

      hi there just been having a play around with it and the two cables on the back of the drive i turned the white one round and its got rid of the red lights of death, the tray is opening fine but im still unable to read discs on the new drive ,hope some one can help me

        If it's the white 1 as you said that's power lead. Plugging this in the wrong way shorts the pcb of the drive. Id get a copy of your fir ware from the seller on ebay just I case

          it would have been a piece of cake job if u had read the model & serial no. of ur old duff drive and bought 1 new off ebay and switched out the pcb inside to the new 1

            Is this drive cream crackered then as I'm getting the same fault as before ,unable to read disc ?

                the new drive is not necessary broken jus problerly the wrong model or make from ur old 1

                  cheers ill get onto him on monday ,before i sent it i looked at the diffrent types online and seen 3 models and i thought mine was a benq but he said when h got it it wasnt the right one
