Does anyone know if you could got back to the orgininal dashboard. I even tried formating my xbox360 harddrive and I still had this new dashboard.

Now i can't even play games that worked before. They all are recognized as a dvd.

I know I could get it flashed to 1.51 and that would solve my problem by is there any other way to get my old dashboard back. At least my old games would work. Thanks.

Just remove the hard drive and memory units, if the new dash is still there then its on the rom chips.

I dont think the old dash would solve your issues, the fact they are coming up as a dvd disc aint good.

What exactly has happened with this box?

I just did exactly what you have written (Patch - Burn with ImgBurn at 2.4x) when I then insert it on my xbox360 its says that I need to "update this version of ... to play this game". So I'm woundering what did I do wrong? I have firmware 1.4 and have been able to play wave 2 games.

I'v used 3 verbatim discs now, so I really need help with this. Thanx!!

I had the exact same problem a few days ago, and i agree that it's really frustrating, not making it work. I downloaded "UFC Undisputed" and ran it with this wave-3-patcher. After that I burnt it as I always do: Verbatim DVD+R DL. When I tried to burn it at the speed of 2,4x, the process was interrupted in about 50%. I tried again, but with the speed of 2,0 and suddenly it worked fine. But when I was about to start the game, I got same problem as you had; "update this version of ... to play this game". Nomatter how I tried to update or not update, I could not play the game. I came up with an idea, and borrowed the same game from a friend (UFC Undisputed), cause he had a bought reatail-version of the game. I launched this game, and all of a sudden I managed to make the update! After this was finished, all my new wave-3-games work without problems at all! So, just make the update with a bought retail-version of a wave-3-game, and it will work fine!

Hope this helps someone who has the same problem

yeah thats all i did for modern warfare 2 (wave 4) but used my friends updated hard-drive and everything works great. I knew it wasan't my firmware as it would boot without the hard-drive attached And in future for every wave of games i'm gonna need to get the updates through originals or borrow someones hard-drive , until they change the patches as it is them that won't allow the updates to happen.

That's if you have live, in which i don't. And also It doesn't matter if you have used patched games before, they are banning people through using the new update, it has something to do with your achievements, an hidden entry in the last update.

I got this to work today. My xbox is never connected to the internet. I am currently running iextreme 1.4 ( i am still at this version). After you patch your iso with the 360 wave patcher, you will need to apply the fall 2009 update to your xbox. I just followed the directions on xbox.com, i just downloaded and extracted the systemupdate folder to my pc, then burned the systemupdate folder to a dvd. It updated the xbox and i was then able to play the patched games. I have tested this on batman, bayonetta, halo 3 odst. I will be testing with assassins creed 2 tomorrow.
